POWER, PRIVILEGE AND THE PURSE
For this project, we learned about what is the America dream and if it's still alive. Also the inequality in the world and who is privileged and who isn't. In math, we calculated our budget as a adult out of college. Including budgeting, taxes, investments, savings and debt.
I was put in the media group and my role of this project was to create a video of the whole project. Starting from the very beginning where I interviewed the students and ask if they knew what the American Dream was or not. If so, I would continue with, "Do you think it's still alive today or not." Then after everyone was interviewed, students then learned all about these topics on there groups. For the next couple weeks, students worked on their exhibition projects. Throughout this time, I kept interviewing them and asking questions about their topics. I really tried to get them to open up about their topic and find out the reasoning behind their background and why they chose it. I think I did a good job at that and the footage of interviews turned out really well. Then later at Exhibition, I had multiple filmers collecting footage for the video. I ran into couple challenges with out team members, where they wanted me to do something but I had a lot of work to do on my own project and I had to decide my priorities and figure out what was most important. I enjoyed hearing the stories of the students that actually cared about their topics and being able to learn the mistakes and bad things they were talking about. I also wrote my own research paper on the American Dream and the incarnations problem we have in our country. I faced a lot of issues in the paper with collecting information and organizing it but I pushed through it and I think it turned out pretty well.
Math:
I learned a lot about where I would go and what I would do after college with my college degree. It was very important for me to see what I would be able to afford and what I can do with the money. Also I didn't realize how much work it is having to calculate all this money. Also where to put your money and when and where to save it. Mathematical modeling would help by using graphs and to see if it has exponential growth or not. Plus it can help you decide wether or not you will save or loose money from important decisions.
We learned about exponential growth and help us figure out the compound interest and taxes. I understand how to do Logarithms but not really the purpose of them besides helping you solve exponential problems. Statistical Problem Solving Process is ask questions, make a plan, gather data, interpret data, and problem solve. I used this process when trying to solve problems during class and on tests. Through this project I learned Standard deviation, Z- scores, etc. I gathered statistics for my topic on my research paper to help me create my own infographic and here it is:

Humanities:
I learned about power and privilege in our society and one major take away was that I never really realized how blessed a lot of us students are compare to other students and people in the world. That not all of us get the same opportunity as others.
We also learned about inequalities in our society and the different circumstances every single human in this world is in. My eyes were open to the huge problems in the world and how many they are. Between education and learning to the wars that are going on.
After what was all said and done, my perspective didn't change to much throughout the project but I did learn a lot more that would backup my opinions and some information that would argue against my opinion. I gained my level of respect for others in the work and sometimes you don't know how bad of problems people are going through also I realized how privileged I am and I'm thankful for that.
